Hannes Merten, 1988, finished his Diploma in Biochemistry in 2012 in at the Friedrich-Schiller-University, Jena, Germany. For his Diploma Thesis, he moved to Boehringer Ingelheim GmbH und Co. KG in Biberach an der Riss, Germany were he worked on innovative protein purification processes for new antibody formats. Hannes started his PhD at the University of Zurich in 2013 at the Plückthun group. His work addresses the prodrug design from DARPin toxin fusion proteins via bioorthogonal chemistry. During leisure time, he likes to do martial arts and salsa dancing.
