Deni received his Master in Biochemistry at the University of Zagreb in 2009 and for his doctoral studies decided to come to Zurich. He is currently working on post-transcriptional regulation of programmed cell death by RNA-binding proteins and microRNAs in the lab of Professor Michael Hengartner at the University of Zurich. Deni was chairing LSZYSN for two years (06.2012- 06. 2014) and has been a board member in 2011, during which the organization was reinforced by additional 20 members and the number of the participants at the Zurich Life Science Day - organization’s flagship event quadrupled – making it the biggest career day in Switzerland for life scientists. Other than his interest in science and bridging the gap between academia and industry, Deni enjoys acting. Back in Croatia he finished acting school and performed in many series, commercials and theater shows. Having retired from the YSN board and learned German, his inaugural performance on Swiss stage is soon due.
