David completed his Bachelor degree at the University of Alberta in Canada including an Industrial Internship program. He completed 3 internship positions in Scotland and Canada in an NGO, a federal government department and a university research lab before moving to Basel for his Master degree at the Swiss Tropical and Public Health institute. He is currently completing his PhD in the laboratory of Professor Alexandra Trkola in the Institute of Medical Virology, University of Zurich. He studies the adaptation of the HIV entry protein during infection. In his free time David is passionate about mountain sports and football.
