Daniel studied Biology and Biomedical Sciences at the universities of Mainz, Germany and Glasgow, UK. He then joined the Max Planck Institute for Heart and Lung Research in Bad Nauheim, Germany in 2012 for his masters thesis. In February 2013, he started his PhD within the imMed programme at the Center for Molecular Cardiology of the University of Zurich. He is currently investigating two caloric restriction sensing proteins and their effects on thrombosis and endothelial dysfunction. Outside work, Daniel enjoys travelling, photography, singing and playing the guitar.
