Sarah obtained her bachelor and master’s degree at the University of Heidelberg. While in her bachelor she gained a broad understanding of biology, her master studies focused on infectious disease and she is especially interested in viruses. 2018 she started her PhD at the university hospital Zurich in HIV research. In her PhD project she is working on a CRISPR based gene therapy approach to target the latent reservoir of HIV, which is the main barrier to a cure. Before moving to Switzerland, she gained experience in marketing and product management during an internship at Roche Diagnostics Germany. In her free time, Sarah loves to hike, travel, do sports and read.
