During his bachelor studies Jakub worked first at the Department of Medical Biotechnology of Jagiellonian Univeristy, where he studied the role of PPAR-gamma in angiogenesis. For the end of the bachelor he moved to the Department of Immunology to investigate the role of chemerin in psoriasis. He worked on his master thesis at the Polish-American Institute od Pediatrics. The work was focused on microvesicles and exosomes in propagation of colorectal cancer. After graduation Jakub found his PhD position in the group of professor Ernst Reichmann at University Children’s Hospital in Zurich, where he works on the improvement of artificial skin substitutes. In his free time Jakub is keen road cyclist and sport writer. As a journalist he covered from the inside world’s biggest races like Tour de France or Giro d’Italia.
