Ioana holds a Ph.D. in Computational Biophysics from the University of Twente in the Netherlands. Her research focused on developing coarse-grained models to simulate protein aggregation on realistic timescales. She is currently working as a postdoctoral researcher in the Computational Structural Biology group at the University of Zurich. She explores the structural rearrangements during amyloid-β fibril elongation, the molecular process associated with the toxic species found in the brains of patients with Alzheimer’s disease. Additionally, Ioana graduated a Masters of Business Administration specialized in Marketing. In her free time she loves to travel, play tennis or dance. Ioana joined the Network in July 2017.
