Elena Omori, PhD

Elena is a Siberian who studied chemistry at the Lomonosov Moscow State University. She is fascinated by multidisciplinary projects aimed at solving global health problems. That's why in her PhD project at ETH she was working on a gene therapy of gastrointestinal diseases such as Crohn's disease and colon cancer. She joined a multidisciplinary lab at Imperial College London as a postdoc, where she developed a light-activable CRISPR system for tissue engineering and developmental biology applications. Currently, she is working at the University of Zurich on targeting epitranscriptomics as a novel cancer therapy. In her free time, Elena loves drawing, dancing, and studying Japanese. Elena joined LSZYSN in 2020 because she likes working in a team and she is eager to promote the exchange between academia and Industry.
