Vanessa holds a BSc in Biological Sciences from the University of Konstanz, Germany. The focus of her research project was to compare the different behavior of histones during DNA repair after extensive laser irradiation. She then gained her first professional experience as a full-time biologist in a diagnostic laboratory in Germany. She later moved to the University of Zurich to study for her Masters in Biology, specializing in Immunology. Her final project was to establish a sequencing workflow to genotype Enterovirus infections in young children and to perform a retrospective study on circulating Enteroviruses during 2019-2022. In addition to this study, she has started a remote MBA study. She is currently working as a research assistant at the University of Zurich in the Molecular Cancer Research Group of Prof. Alessandro Sartori. In her free time, Vanessa enjoys being outdoors, doing sports and reading a good book.
