Fiona obtained her M.Sc. in Molecular Biology/Biochemistry from the University of Vienna, Austria. For her Master’s thesis, she joined the laboratory of Dr. Bon-Kyoung Koo at the Institute of Molecular Biotechnology in Austria (IMBA) to investigate WNT signaling dysregulation in endometrial and gastric cancer. Following her graduation, she completed a one year internship at the University of Toronto, Canada, where she worked on a project investigating the single-cell heterogeneity of brain vasculature in homoeostasis and disease. She then joined the Pediatric Cancer Metabolism group at the Children’s Hospital in Zurich as a PhD student. Currently, she is investigating mechanisms for therapy resistance in osteosarcoma. In her free time she enjoys running, baking and spending time with her family and pets.
