Camilla obtained her bachelor’s degree in biology at the University of Siena, Italy. She did her master studies in Biomedical Sciences at Maastricht University where she specialized in pathophysiology of the central nervous system and neuromodulation techniques. Following her passion for neuroscientific research, she thereafter moved to Stockholm where she did her master thesis at Karolinska Institutet. Here she joined the group of Prof. Patrik Ernfors where she focused on the identification and classification of sensory neuron types conducting somatosensation and pain. In September 2021 she joined the Institute of Pharmacology and Toxicology at the University of Zurich as PhD student in Neuroscience. Outside of the lab, she loves dancing, exploring nature and spending time with friends.
