Career Mentoring Program

The Career Mentoring Program is a collaboration between the LSZYSN and industry partners, that brings together professionals from life science companies (mentors) and PhD students/postdocs (mentees). During a 6 month program, mentors from a diverse range of positions share their personal experiences and insights from an industry environment while also guiding early career scientists in finding their path in the world of business, science and global corporations. Mentees will get the opportunity to learn about the internal structure, projects and entry-level positions of the company and what requirements are necessary to pursue certain careers.

The program involves various aspects of mentoring, from group activities and coaching to 1:1 mentoring sessions, giving mentees an in-depth look at career prospects beyond the world of academia. The 1:1 mentoring sessions build the core of the mentoring program - each selected mentee is assigned one mentor, who accompanies the mentee over the course of the program with the potential of building a strong and personal mentoring relationship.

The R&D CAMP (CSL Academic Mentoring Program) is a great opportunity to expand your horizon!
Professionals from many divisions within CSL (Research, Development, Regulatory Affairs, Project Management, Strategy, Clinical Science, Safety, Medical Devices and more) will participate as mentors to talk about their experiences and answer questions helping you gain valuable insights into the life science industry.

The R&D CAMP program is aimed at PhD students in the second half of their doctoral studies, but Postdocs or Master's students are welcome to apply as well. This program will consist of different group sessions with both mentors and mentees, personal 1:1 meetings with your matched mentor as well as workshops to improve skills needed in the life science industry. The R&D CAMP will take place from May - October.

The Career Mentoring Program will run from March to September 2025. Registration is now open via the link below until January 30th. Take note that the number of available slots is limited so be sure to have a spot-on CV and cover letter ready when you apply. On March 18th, we will have a kick-off event where the selected candidates will have the opportunity to meet the mentors and the other participants.
