Koen completed a BSc and MSc in Nanobiology at Delft University of Technology and Erasmus Medical Center Rotterdam in The Netherlands. He moved to Zurich to join the lab of Tatjana Kleele at the Institute of Biochemistry at ETH. Here, he specializes further in super-resolution microscopy techniques and proteomics to unravel the intricate interplay between mitochondrial morphology and cellular fate. In his free time, he plays football, and goes hiking and snowboarding. After working at a startup, he maintains a special interest in start-ups and how they are funded. In Zurich, he hopes to get a clearer picture of how startups and pharma companies cooperate in search for new medicine and technologies.
