Greta holds a BSc in Biotechnology from the University of Pavia in Italy. In 2021, she moved to Zurich to pursue her academic career in health sciences at the University of Zurich and obtained an MSc in Biomedicine. For her Master’s thesis, she joined Prof. Thomas Lutz’s lab, where she investigated how exposure to a high-energy diet and proneness to obesity impact dopamine dynamics in the brain of female rats. She continued with a PhD in Biomedicine in the same lab, focusing on a new project centered around newly launched anti-obesity medications based on GLP-1 and amylin agonism. Her aim is to discover the mechanisms of action and the brain circuits targeted by these compounds. Outside the lab, Greta loves spending time with her family, traveling, practicing sports such as kickboxing, exploring the beautiful Swiss mountains, and enjoying good food (especially Italian).
