Dejana completed her Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Biomedicine at the University of Zurich, where she discovered her passion for cancer research during her Master’s thesis exploring the FRS2 dependence of the FGFR signaling pathway in cancer cells. She is now pursuing her PhD in Cancer Biology in the Neuro-Oncology group of Prof. Martin Baumgartner at the University Children’s Hospital Zurich. In her PhD project, she investigates how medulloblastoma cells regulate the release of extracellular vesicles and how these vesicles contribute to communication between the tumor and its microenvironment. When she’s not in the lab, Dejana enjoys spending time with family and friends, taking spinning classes, and discovering new vineyards — always appreciating the science behind a good glass of wine.
