After undergraduate studies at the University of Vienna (Austria) and the University of Leicester (UK) Thomas performed his master thesis at the Center for Molecular Medicine (CeMM) in Vienna, earning his MSc degree in 2010. In 2014 he earned his PhD from the Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences at ETH Zürich, working on bispecific biomacromolecules for cancer therapy, immunocytokines and antibody-drug conjugates. Since 2011 Thomas has been an active member of YSN and served as vice-chairman from 2013 to 2014 and as Chairman from 2014 to 2015.
