ZLSD 2018
Last 1st of February 2018 more than 800 participants joined us for the 9th edition of the Zurich Life Science Day, the largest life science career event in Switzerland, organized by the Life Science Zurich Young Scientist Network!
As it is tradition, the Zurich Life Science Day 2018 was opened with a lecture given by a Nobel Prize Laureate. This year we had the pleasure to hear from Prof. Dr. Martin Chalfie, who received the prize for the discovery and development of green fluorescent protein (GFP)!
The day continued with many more talks, where participants were exposed to career advice, professional experiences, and different career paths in the life sciences. As well as, participants heard from professionals at McKinsey, Novartis, Roche and many more, about consulting, clinical trials, R&D, and other alternative careers outside of academia.
In addition, the ZLSD 2018 hosted a large exhibition with 32 different companies representing all areas of the life science industry landscape. During the day, participants had the opportunity to speak directly with life science specialists, book informal meetings with company representatives, have their CV polished by career experts or a professional photo taken for their CV.
